STEP ONE: Place a Filter Paper
Insert a filter paper into your pour-over cone and set it on the server placed on your scale.
STEP TWO: Rinse the Filter
Rinse the filter paper thoroughly with hot water to eliminate any paper taste and preheat the server.
STEP THREE: Tare the Scale
Zero out your scale to account for the weight of the server and filter.
STEP FOUR: Add Coffee
Measure your coffee dose and add it to the filter. Tare the scale again to reset to zero with the coffee in place.
STEP FIVE: Bloom the Coffee
Pour 40g of water evenly over the coffee grounds, ensuring all grounds are saturated. Allow it to bloom for 30 -45 seconds.
STEP SIX: Add Water in Stages
Slowly pour an additional 100g of water in a circular motion until the scale reads 140g. Let it sit for 45 seconds.
STEP SEVEN: Complete the Pour
Gradually add the final 80g of water until the scale reads 220g. Wait for the water to fully pass through the grounds.
